Glucomet 500 mg belongs to a category of anti-diabetic drugs. It is usually prescribed for the treatment of diabetes mellitus (Type 2 Diabetes). Glucomet 500 controls diabetes by lowering the sugar level in the blood and also increases the sensitivity of the body towards insulin.

Taking metformin with alcohol can cause lactic acidosis and you may experience malaise, respiratory distress, slow or irregular heartbeat, sleepiness, stomach upset, or other unusual symptoms. Glucomet 500 mg tablet is probably safe to use during pregnancy and breast feeding. Glucomet 500 mg tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney and liver disease.
